Maxair Drifter Part 103 Legal Ultralight
Ultralight Aircraft Magazine - The Maxair Drifter Single Place Ultralight Aircraft - The Maxair Drifter is a single seat ultralight introduced to the ultralight market in the early 1980's. It uses bolt and rivet together anodized aluminun tubing construction, covered in Dacron sailcloth. Construction times run from 100 to 150 hours. No special tools are required and the craft can be constructed in the space of a single car garage.
The craft is a single seat, high wing, taildragger in a pusher configuration. Original power was supplied by the Rotax 277 using a belt drive reduction gear. Later models used the Rotax 377, 447, and 503 engines. A single place model called the Red Rocket was powered by the Rotax 582 liquid cooled engine, but WAS NOT an ultralight.
